Career arc
Twenty years shipping software, the last six leading multidisciplinary teams. The arc is consistent: front-end first, then platform, then organization design. I still write code with the team I lead, and I present the roadmap at the board level.
Two things on this page that don’t fit a LinkedIn export. One: I ran side projects in parallel with every day job since 2009. Coders4Africa, then Gebeya, then 100Kode, now TecPatri, Sabati, Vibe Coding Profiler. The day job paid the bills and grew the leadership muscle; the side track kept the builder muscle alive and built community. Two: my early career (2004 to 2009) was a stack of independent contracts and federal IC roles in the DC area. I anchor the visual at 2009 because that’s when both tracks become legible.
The current chapter is Pacify, where I’m CTO of a HIPAA-regulated telehealth platform serving doulas, lactation consultants, and state Medicaid programs. I joined as Head of Engineering and was promoted in four months. I lead an eight-person org spanning product, engineering, design, and data, split between the U.S. and offshore. We moved the company from a fully outsourced vendor era to internal platform ownership, modernized the web/mobile/backend stack, and shipped LLM-driven workflow automation. SOC 2 (Vanta) and HIPAA governance are mine; that work directly secured the Alaska Department of Public Health WIC contract.
Before Pacify I was at Clockwise, the AI calendar company, where I led the 0-to-1 build of Prism, an LLM-driven scheduling product, and drove a $300K Q1 ARR lift through packaging, paywalls, and enterprise self-serve. Before that, ShopRunner (already a FedEx subsidiary by the time I joined) where I led two distributed teams of twelve engineers, shipped a TypeScript Shopping SDK for retail partners, and stood up an offshore support team; IDDataWeb where I built the front-end platform from scratch ($2M revenue contribution) and transitioned from IC to manager; senior engineering roles at DDC and IMMUNIO/Trend Micro before that. I’m an early adopter of agentic coding (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex), use them daily, and have made them part of how the team ships.
