My name is Abou Kone and i am primarily a Front End Developer. I am currently a Senior Application Developer at Millenial Media where we help mobile developers monetize their apps using a framework built in ExtJS. On the side, I stay busy and when I am not studying for my Masters, or changing my son's Soopah Im's diapers, I freelance or build apps because I am always brainstorming. Index Dot LLC is the name of my web/mobile development startup. Technology-wise I have dabbled in a little bit of everything but mainly J2EE and LAMP/WAMP/MAMP stacks have been my primary environments. I have taken a keen interest lately in Mobile development using Javascript based frameworks such as Sencha Touch or Titanium, but I think I will settle for Sencha Touch in the end. I was also bitten by the entrepreneurial bug and when I have free time, I am working on a couple of (too many???) apps (MyWarming,Nouchi.Mobi), to expand on my skills mainly and try out those new ideas and concepts. I am originally from Ivory Coast/Cote d'Ivoire, thus the title of my blog, and am approaching my 15-year anniversary in the US. I keep a sturdy interest in ICT developments happening mainly in Africa, and as a member of Coders4Africa, I host a weekly podcast, the African Tech Weekly discussing African Tech News. I love gadgets, music specially old rockers roots reggae and video games (FIFA Soccer & Modern Warfare and Mass Effect are my type of games). This blog is a way for me to document the discoveries/solutions I come up with through my programming and also discuss wider dev/geek related news. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do and do not hesitate to get in touch.
